A roundup of new hires and other personnel moves in the association industry.

The National Wooden Pallet and Container Association has hired Brent J. McClendon, CAE, as president and CEO. McClendon previously served as the executive vice president of the International Wood Products Association.

The American Legal and Financial Network has announced the expansion of its executive team with the promotion of Christina­ ­Danovsky to senior vice president of business development and the addition of Cade Holleman­ in the newly created role of assistant vice president of ­government affairs and communications.

Deborah J. Bowen, FACHE, CAE, has been named president and CEO of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Bowen previously was the chief operating officer of ACHE.

R. Paul Noland has been hired as president and CEO of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. Noland most recently served as the principal and CEO of RPN Associates.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers has promoted Charlie O’Brien to senior vice president.

Executive Women International has ap­pointed Wendy H. Cowley executive director and COO.

Visit Orlando has hired George Armando Aguel as president and chief executive officer. Aguel most recently served as senior vice president of global corporate alliances and operating participants at The Walt Disney Company.

The Waldorf Astoria Chicago­ has named ­Leonardo Lorenzo director of catering and Christine Lo senior catering manager. Lorenzo previously was senior catering sales manager at the Waldorf Astoria New York. Lo most recently led the corporate market catering team at the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago.

The Hotel Group has named Barry Baxter general manager of DoubleTree by Hilton in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Baxter previously served as assistant general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn in Issaquah, Washington, and director of rooms for the Arctic Club Seattle.

Ernest Wooden Jr. has been named president and CEO of the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board.

Melissa Dietrich has been named director of business development for Fernley & Fernley, Inc. Dietrich most recently was a regional account executive with the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
