How I Got Here: Denise Froemming, CAE

The CFO and executive vice president of administration of American Health Information Management Association shares her career path.

Denise Froemming, CPA, MBA, CAE, started her career almost 25 years ago when she worked as a general manager of operations at LeDuc’s Custard, a family-owned frozen custard shop in Wisconsin. As the current CFO and executive vice president, administration, at the American Health Information Management Association, she says every job—even serving cones—has taught her a number of lessons.

“Continuing education and information are necessary to even have a chance at becoming pertinent and potentially excelling tomorrow.”

One that has stayed with her: “Excellence, passion, intense effort, communications, and teamwork are not individually exclusive. Success as a professional or as an organization demands commitment to each.”

2011–: CFO and executive vice president of administration at the American Health Information Management Association
