The National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees’ 2015 Annual Convention started Thursday and marks three days of learning, networking, and offsite events that will give attendees a feel for Chicago. Also on the docket:

What’s it worth? NABT will hold its own version of “Antiques Road Show” during one of the session blocks.  Attendees will learn how to assess the value of personal property assets—such as boats, vehicles, jewelry, equipment, tools, and firearms—by using appraisal principal and checklists.

Get the party started. The meeting’s opening reception will bring back the “legendary NABT DJ” so that attendees can dance the night away. Also on tap is group karaoke. Prizes will be awarded to first and second place.

Liar, liar. During “Pinocchio’s Corner,” presenters will teach attendees how to evaluate whether debtors are telling the truth. It will include tips and techniques on how to spot lies and half-truths.
