Best Benefit Ever: Public Relations Support

A Canadian health technology group provides members with strategic public relations agency support.

What is it? Health technology startups and bioscience companies that are members of the Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization (OBIO) may now receive public relations and communication services thanks to a new partnership with HOWE&WYE, a PR and public affairs firm. These PR services can include competitive analysis, branding, and product-launch communication campaigns, all offered at optimized prices.

Why it works? OBIO’s mission is to advocate for the growth and development of the commercial bioscience sector in Ontario. PR and communication support will help these companies find the right strategies and tools to attract both investors and consumers, which may help them grow.

“OBIO is acutely aware of the opportunities and challenges its members face and we are proud to expand our member benefits to include access to PR services from an outstanding firm, HOWE&WYE,” CEO Gail Garland explained in a statement. “HOWE&WYE’s experience and insight is an ideal fit to help our member companies with their strategic communications priorities.”

Other benefits: OBIO advocates for members with government stakeholders, and it connects emerging companies and entrepreneurs with potential investors. OBIO also offers additional discount programs on laboratory equipment, legal services, professional development, and news distribution services.
