Monday Buzz: Email Delivers the Traffic Goods

Prioritize your email strategy to get the most from your content. Also: Don’t miss these valuable SEO resources for association marketers.

Once you’ve put time and money into creating great content, you need to drive traffic to it by testing out a variety of distribution channels, including social media, SEO, and ad networks.

All of them can direct some traffic to your site, but if you want to get guaranteed, consistent traffic, focus your efforts on email, says Brian Clark, founder of Copyblogger.

While social media and SEO have their benefits, email newsletters provide the most value, Clark says. Email delivers the highest click-through rate, and it’s the channel that converts the most people.

“The reason you continue to deliver valuable content beyond your initial promise is simple,” writes Clark. “You’re training people to open your emails and click on your links by being consistently amazing.”
