Lemmietta McNeilly, CAE, the chief staff officer for speech-language pathology at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association has seen a lot of work environments in her day.

Lemmietta McNeilly, Ph.D., CAE, has worked in a whole host of settings— from hospitals to universities to associations. No matter the location, she’s always set the same goal for herself. “Always strive to learn new information and be challenged to acquire new skills and knowledge,” she says. Here are some highlights from her career journey so far:

A Working History

1993–1997: Hospital Administrator at the Hospital for Sick Children and Braintree Hospital Rehabilitation Network

1998–2000: Clinic Director and Assistant Professor at Academic Health Center at University of Florida

2000–2004: Founding Department Chair at Florida International University

2004–: Chief Staff Officer for Speech-Language Pathology at American Speech- Language-Hearing Association
