ASAE & The Center’s Research Department advances knowledge in non-profit management by providing resources that will help leaders focus on critical factors to enhance their organizations. We implement and facilitate the application of research findings by executives and boards through rigorously designed secondary, qualitative and quantitative methods.

Industry Research. We collect and aggregate survey data to help you increase operational efficiency. Benchmarking publications include compensation, policies and procedures, operating ratios and more.  Receive benchmarking data at your fingertips with our new offering, Benchmarking In an Instant.

Market Research. We help ASAE & The Center staff develop programs, products and services. We conduct an annual member needs assessment, learning program evaluations as well as data mining to help ASAE & The Center better serve each member. We help non-profit organizations by assisting them in gathering market intelligence of their own members, either by survey question sharing or data analysis projects.

Benchmarking Consortium Building. We connect non-profit organizations from around the world to allow organizations to benchmark against each other and facilitate research of association’s members. We have produced thought provoking research on membership, volunteerism, fundraising and the economy.

Endowment-Funded Research. We identify critical issues in the rapidly changing environment facing the non-profit community by conducting research to develop insights that will promote success over time.
