Leadership

Executive Summary: Ian Santo Domingo

Vault Consulting Principal and Managing Director Ian Santo Domingo says that if he wasn't a consultant, he'd be running a nonprofit himself.

If I weren’t doing this, I’d …

… be running a nonprofit with my wife called “An Even Playing Field,” which would help kids with special needs succeed in school and give them the confidence to become the best version of themselves.

On my desk right now

A small stack of Associations Now issues, pictures of my 11-month-old son, research plans for four different associations, the results of a large tradeshow audit, and a to-do list that only gets longer

My three goals for 2016

1. Spend more time with my family.

2. Help five associations create something new and valuable for their membership.

3. Get eight hours of sleep in one night. (The baby is making sure this doesn’t happen!)

What I do when I’m not at work

Cycle, try new restaurants, discover new bands at one of the area’s small venues, and change diapers

The best advice I ever got

Life is never a matter of always holding good cards but, more often, playing a poor hand well.

My media mix

Music: James Bay, Hozier, X Ambassadors, The Weeknd, Alessia Cara

News: CNN, The Economist, Scientific American, GQ, Washingtonian

TV: The Walking Dead, Last Week Tonight, Sports Center, Daniel Tiger

My favorite blogs

DCist, Gizmodo, Streaking the Lawn
