Community Builder: Connected Via Video

A new video series took Tech Conference takeaways to a far-flung audience.

With dozens of sessions on a conference agenda, many occurring at the same time, it’s impossible to take advantage of every learning opportunity and catch every important message—no matter how plugged in you are to social media.

That’s where the Live from ASAE Tech video series came into play during ASAE’s 2012 Technology Conference & Expo in December.

TMA Resources, an ASAE strategic partner, produced one- to three-minute videos onsite at the conference center. The segments featured learning lab presenters, general session speakers, and conference attendees sharing what they learned during the two-day event.

From Brian Solis’ opening address on the biggest tech trends to Dion Hinchcliffe’s disruptive-tech case studies to the rapid-fire Ignite sessions, the video series extended the learning to online participants and attendees who couldn’t make it to every event.

The video segments were hosted on TMA Resources’ website and shared through social media channels during the conference.

“We wanted to get more into the meat of what people were talking about instead of just promoting what they would be talking about,” says Paul Gannon, vice president of marketing for TMA Resources. “It’s interesting to hear what they came away with after a session, because you never really know what’s going to happen during the session. People who were or were not there can get a lot of value out of it.”
