Conference Circuit: Talking Telemedicine

The American Telemedicine Association’s Annual Conference and Expo begins this weekend in Chicago. More than 6,000 are expected to attend.

Thousands of healthcare providers, clinicians, business professionals, and leaders from a variety of health and technology sectors are headed to Chicago to discuss and plan the future of telemedicine.

Organization: American Telemedicine Association

Conference: ATA18

Venue: McCormick Place

City: Chicago

Following preconference workshops on Saturday, ATA18 will kick off Sunday morning with an opening plenary called “Past, Present, and Future: The Next Generation of Digital Telehealth.” Robert Wachter, MD, bestselling author of The Digital Doctor, will discuss the evolution of healthcare and what’s coming next. Also noteworthy:

Get connected. For the first time, ATA has selected a group of social media influencers and bloggers to work as ATA18 Connectors. These two dozen volunteers will use social channels like Twitter to build conference awareness and help ATA connect with even more people.

Choose your learning adventure. ATA offers learning formats to suit every attendee. Speaker Corner sessions highlight telemedicine hot topics, while In the Driver Seat sessions feature industry leaders sharing their insights and strategies to assist organizations in developing an integrated telehealth approach.

Share your best ideas. During Pitch Jam, six startups will pitch their ideas to a panel of patients, clinicians, tech industry insiders, and investors. Startups will have five minutes to pitch, seven minutes to field questions, and three minutes to close. The winning pitch will be awarded a professional promo video, a complimentary booth and invitation to speak at ATA19, and prominent placement in ATA marketing collateral.

Head to Twitter (#ATA18) and Facebook for other conference details.
