One prominent chamber of commerce is making the shipping process easier and cheaper for small businesses.
What’s the benefit? Thanks to a partnership with chamber member PostageAnywhere, members of the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce will now be able to ship Priority Mail packages and envelopes at a discount. Shipping labels can be easily printed and attached to packages, which can then be shipped by Priority Mail at a 70 percent discount, with no additional charges or obligations.
Why it works for members: As the San Jose chamber’s chief operations officer, Stephanie Caldwell, said in a statement, “We are very proud of this new member benefit that will help save businesses time and money.” Anything that cuts costs and makes shipping easier for members is bound to be popular, especially considering the complications that small and midsize businesses face when it comes to shipping.
Other benefits: Chamber members also receive discounts on business purchases, through Office Depot, Comcast, and other companies; on personal expenditures, with a UNA prescription drug card; and on tuition, at Kaplan University.
