Editor’s Note: Evolution in Action
Associations Now editor-in-chief Julie Shoop reflects on the publication's first year in an updated format—and with a fresh website.
We’re celebrating an anniversary here at Associations Now, and as people tend to do on anniversaries, we’re looking back and looking ahead.
Last October, we launched an updated magazine and gave it its own digital home on AssociationsNow.com. Our online newswriting and blogging muscles have had a good workout over these past months, and we feel stronger and surer in the digital realm a year later. Judging from your engagement on the website and with Associations Now Daily News, we think you’re finding some value there. We intend to keep delivering it.
At the same time, we’re facing a challenge many of you are well acquainted with: In an age of increasing competition, rising costs, and declining print revenue, ASAE is looking for the right balance of print and digital products to keep our publishing program financially viable. To do that, starting with this issue, Associations Now is switching to bimonthly frequency. In the coming year, you can expect the same high-quality business journalism for the association sector in six larger issues.
Meanwhile, we’re continuing our digital expansion with Associations Now Plus, an exciting new vehicle for delivering the premium, members-only content that previously was distributed via 14 ASAE section newsletters. What makes Associations Now Plus special is customization: You choose the topics you want to read about and how often you want to receive the newsletter. Launch is planned for this fall, so watch for more information soon.
Delivery vehicles may (surely will) change. We’re committed to remaining your trusted source for news, thought leadership, and practical content on association management—in today’s channels and whatever comes along next.
