Best Benefit Ever: Occupational Therapists Receive HR Advice

Members of Occupational Therapy Australia can learn about human resources remedies through a new partnership with a business consulting firm.

What’s the benefit? In a 2013 member-services survey, members of Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) expressed interest in human resources consultancy support for their practices. Their wish has been granted, thanks to a new partnership between the association and business consulting firm Master HR Solutions. OTA members can receive expert HR advice and support, as well as a variety of services and products, at a 10 percent discount. Members can also take advantage of resources for matters such as conflict resolution, negotiations, performance management, and training.

Why it works for members: A strong grasp of occupational therapy is only one component of career success for OTA’s members. Integrating knowledge of the best HR practices gives them a more well-rounded professional skill set. What’s more, respondents in the 2013 survey mentioned that HR support would be especially valuable for those in or entering private practice. And Master HR Solutions is highly experienced in providing HR consulting services to health professionals, making the firm a smart choice for occupational therapists seeking counsel about the management side of operations.

Other benefits: OTA’s list of benefits includes discounted rates for all of its professional development events and conferences, along with free access to international occupational therapy journals. Members can also find expert support through MentorLink, a facilitated mentoring program for occupational therapists in Australia working in the public or private sector.
