Birthday Wish: The Coolest Interview Ever

This fall, Associations Now will hit its 10th birthday, and as we get ready to celebrate, here's what we want to know: If we could arrange for anyone in the world to sit down with us for an interview, who would you want to hear from?

If you can’t wish big on your birthday, when can you?

At least that’s our thinking here at Associations Now, as we approach the magazine’s 10th anniversary this fall. The first issue of AN was published in October 2005, and we’ve had the privilege of featuring some really smart people—including that first cover guy, FedEx cofounder Michael Basch—who have talked with us and written on our pages about the many challenges and opportunities associations have faced in the past decade.

Now, we understand we don’t have the pull of The New York Times or CNN or Jon Stewart, but we can dream as big as any of them, so we’re having little fun asking ourselves this question: Who, if we had the chance, would we like to sit down with for an interview? Which leaders in business, politics, the arts, sports, science—luminaries in any field, you name it—would have wisdom to share with AN‘s savvy audience of association professionals?

But then it occurred to us: The better question is, who would you like to hear from? And why? What would your choice of most fascinating interview subject have to say that could enlighten and inspire you and your association colleagues?

In our September/October anniversary issue, we’ll share some of your nominees for Coolest Interview Ever. We can’t promise we’ll actually snag the big “get,” but we think we’ll learn something from your wish list. And we’ll all have some fun to boot.
