Meetings

Destination: San Francisco

The City by the Bay is a perennial conference favorite.

Cultural venues, a growing convention center, and an attendee-friendly airport all help keep San Fran one of the most popular locales for association meetings.

Cultural connection. San Francisco Travel has launched SFMeetCulture, which helps connect planners to the city’s most historically significant arts and culture venues for unique events. Among the options: an outdoor garden party at the Conservatory of Flowers, a wine tasting aboard the SS Jeremiah O’Brien, or a reception at the 19th-century barracks at the Presidio.

Growing convention center. Scheduled for completion in 2018, the Moscone Center expansion will add more than 170,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including a 50,000-square-foot ballroom. Also in the works is an enclosed pedestrian bridge connecting the north and south buildings above Howard Street.

Travel easy. San Francisco International Airport offers direct flights to 45 international destinations on 39 carriers, and 13 domestic carriers offer nonstop service to 78 U.S. cities. The airport, located 14 miles south of the city, is also connected to downtown via Bay Area Rapid Transit.
