The world of nanotechnology is evolving so fast that it can be a challenge to keep up with what’s going on in the space—especially the way governments are regulating the industry.

The Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA) recognized the opportunity in all that complexity: the possibility of a fresh member benefit.

The European group’s Regulatory Monitoring Database, which it launched this week, is intended to help members looking for regulatory information that might be relevant to the industry in ways big and small. The service will store and track relevant legislative documents and offer an easy way to follow developments. NIA will analyze the information to offer members a quick understanding of the issues, using a color-coded triage system to emphasize priority. The video below explains more:

“As legislative texts across the globe increasingly include provisions related to nanotechnologies, it is becoming ever more crucial for businesses to understand and anticipate both what policy-makers are developing and what standards could apply to them,” the association states on its website. “NIA’s Regulatory Monitoring Database sets out to improve its users’ understanding of these and aid them in taking the appropriate courses of action for their businesses.”

Corporate and associate members will receive the benefit for free, but the association is also offering the service to the general public for a yearly fee, and its lower-level affiliate members will receive a discount on the service equivalent to the cost of a yearly membership.
