Meetings Roundup: Pathway to Success

Pathways are back as the 2014 ASAE Technology Conference moves to a new location.

Attendees enjoyed their walk down the educational “pathways” that made their debut last year, and the unique learning format will return as the 2014 ASAE Technology Conference & Expo, December 16–17, finds a new home in National Harbor, Maryland. As with all things technology, the pathways had to be updated to stay -current with the times. Visit www.asaecenter.org/technologyconference for more information and to register.

Content Strategy Pathway

There’s a steady stream of information available on the web and in social spaces, and associations must determine how to curate and deliver the most relevant content to their members and other audiences. This pathway will explore how to develop a content strategy, the business of content governance, distribution methods, managing audience expectations, and promoting engagement.

C-Suite Pathway

Good technology decisions are critical to an association’s success and should involve input from everyone at the top, including the CEO. This pathway will help focus the executive team on key issues like building internal and external IT relationships, business analytics, and technology prioritization.

Technology & Leadership Management Pathway

Being an IT leader today means keeping up with the pace of technological change; managing complex integration of systems, processes, and applications; and serving as a change agent for the association. In this pathway, explore IT as a business unit, data visualization tools, and project management essentials.

Platforms and Applications Pathway

Crafted for the association geek, this pathway will focus on the nitty-gritty of technology tools and how they can be applied to everyday association work. Sessions will focus on business intelligence, cloud computing, the future of the AMS, video teleconferencing, mobile strategies, and more.

Next Gen Learning Pathway

This interactive, strategic, and future-focused pathway, developed by ASAE’s Professional Development Section Council, examines the intersection of learning and technology. Sessions will explore the use of technology in association education, including selecting the best tools and platforms to help learners achieve education goals.
