The Medical Group Management Association’s 2015 Annual Conference begins this weekend in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Medical Group Management Association’s 2015 Annual Conference begins this weekend in Nashville, Tennessee.

Close to 6,000 medical practice executives, administrators, physicians, vendors, and industry experts will make their way to Music City in the coming days to explore cutting-edge technologies, discuss best practices, and learn hands-on techniques.

Association:  Medical Group Management Association

Conference:  MGMA 2015 Annual Conference

Venue: Gaylord Opryland Resort

Location: Nashville, Tennessee

The official kickoff of MGMA’s 2015 Annual Conference is Sunday afternoon. Opening keynoter Jeremy Gutsche, CEO of TrendHunter.com, will discuss the three neurological traps that block people from realizing their full potential. Other noteworthy items:

Social media savvy. Attendees will want to stop by “Tweet Street” in the exhibit hall. This lounge area, filled with comfy chairs and social media resources, gives them a chance to take a break, snap a photo, and share their conference experience on social media. They can also learn helpful tips and best practices for using social media in their practices and get expert advice on initiating or optimizing their efforts.

Choose your own adventure. MGMA 2015 features seven unique learning formats that allow attendees to mix it up. Among them are point-counterpoint, where experts with differing ideas and viewpoints engage in debate, and rapid fire, where a speaker must keep pace with automatically advancing slides.

Game changers. Six selected MGMA members who are doing innovative work in their fields will hold informal hallway sessions to discuss with their peers how they’re reframing the national conversation surrounding healthcare. Among their accomplishments: developing their own health plans and implementing patient care guides.

The usual social spaces—Twitter (#MGMA15) and Facebook—will let you keep an eye on the meeting from afar. You can also check out MGMA15 News, a one-stop web portal featuring live coverage of the meeting.
