Ready for Trouble? Key Cybersecurity Stats

A survey by ISACA and RSA Conference, “State of Cybersecurity: Implications for 2016,” asked 841 people with cybersecurity responsibilities at their organizations about how well protected their systems are. A few findings:

47 percent said they experienced a hacking attempt weekly.

82 percent said their board is either concerned or very concerned about cybersecurity.

43 percent said their organization’s executive team demonstrates support for cybersecurity by following good security practices themselves.

42 percent said they are comfortable with their cybersecurity team’s ability to detect and respond to incidents, but only for simple issues.

53 percent said they are concerned or very concerned about the security threat presented by the internet of things.

74 percent said it is likely or very likely their organization will experience a cyberattack in 2016.
