Best Benefit Ever: Reading Library
The American Society of Radiologic Technologists has launched a new benefit that allows members to easily access continuing-education materials.
What is it? The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) is a professional association for people working in medical imaging and radiation therapy. Its newest benefit—the Directed Reading Flex Plan—will give members quick and easy access to continuing-education (CE) materials in content areas and medical categories of their choice.
Why it works: The benefit aims to solve a problem many radiologic technologists (RTs) face: obtaining practice-specific CE content to meet their registration or state licensure requirements. Through the Directed Reading Flex Plan, members can choose articles approved for digital-imaging credit and immediately take the related CE quizzes. “The Directed Reading Flex Plan alleviates the frustration of many RTs when it comes to continuing education,” said ASRT Associate Executive Director Myke Kudlas. “As national, state and institutional CE requirements evolve, RTs can use the Directed Reading Flex Plan to immediately find the CE they need to meet these requirements.”
Other benefits: Beyond continuing education, ASRT membership provides exclusive discounts at top retailers like Ford, Home Depot, and Dell. Members also have access to a private online social network that allows them to connect with 153,000 colleagues.
