Need for speed. During the National Speed Contest, contestants write and transcribe three pieces, each five minutes in length. They include a 220-word-per-minute literary reading, 230-word-per-minute legal opinion, and 280-word-per-minute testimony. The best combined speed and accuracy score wins the championship.
