Following affiliate groups meetings Saturday morning and afternoon, MESA 2017 will begin that evening with 18 sessions for attendees to choose from. Also noteworthy on the agenda:
Read all about it. Arguably the largest display of Middle East studies titles anywhere, MESA’s annual Book Bazaar will include new and familiar faces, including university presses, small publishing houses, independent booksellers, and even artisans sharing their talents.
Parent friendly. While MESA does not provide onsite child care, registered attendees can hire a local service, friend, or family member to care for their children during the annual meeting, and MESA will reimburse up to $200 of the expenses.
Signed, sealed, delivered. Attendees will have the opportunity to go to the Smithsonian National Postal Museum and hear its chief curator of philately discuss opportunities for research within the museum’s stamp collections, as well as the postal history of the Middle East.
