Conference Circuit: 9-1-1, What’s Your Emergency?

NENA: The 9-1-1 Association’s 2018 Conference and Expo starts next week in Nashville. Several thousand are expected to attend.

Thousands of emergency communications professionals, policymakers, and other public safety officials will make their way to Nashville in the next few days to gain practical skills, network, and get the knowledge they need to do their jobs and actively prepare for the road ahead.

Following preconference courses on Sunday, NENA 2018 begins on Monday morning with an opening general session featuring the Water Coolers. Through music and comedy, the song-and-sketch troupe will share tools to overcome the daily challenges of modern life. Also worth noting:

Ready, set, run. Sunday’s Run for 9-1-1 through downtown Nashville is a charity 5K benefiting a NENA initiative called Friends of 9-1-1, which provides provide scholarships, continuing education opportunities, and wellness programs for 9-1-1 professionals across the United States.

Neighborhood meet-up. Before the opening  keynote session, attendees can grab breakfast with their region director and other attendees from their area to map out their week of sessions, events, and activities. They’ll also have the chance to discuss issues affecting NENA and the public safety community in their area.

On-demand learning. Included with every attendee’s registration fee is unlimited access to the NENA 2018 Live Learning Center, where they’ll find online, on-demand audio and synchronized presentation materials from every session at NENA 2018.
