Leadership

Executive Summary: Vincent Williams, MBA

Vincent Williams, MBA, the director of membership and business development for the The Executives’ Club of Chicago, is really into jazz.

What I do when I’m not at work

As a huge jazz fan, I’m typically at a local live music venue listening to a jam session.

My three goals for 2019

1. Grow membership by 25 percent.

2. Get appointed to the board of a Fortune 1000 company.

3. Finally clean the garage and become more organized.

My media mix

Playlist: Miles Davis, Cool Jazz, House Music

Magazines: Chief Executive, Black Enterprise, Harvard Business Review

Newspapers: The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, The Washington Post

On my desk right now

Our 2018–2019 strategic plan, engagement strategy and member prospects, potential speakers list, sales pipeline, “People on the Move” in Crain’s Chicago Business

The best advice I ever got

As a leader, be clear and transparent.

If I weren’t doing this, I’d …

… seek to make a difference in the lives of today’s disadvantaged youth by teaching and inspiring them to succeed through soft-skills training and education.
