The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s 2019 Annual Meeting begins next week in Orlando. Attendance is expected to top 6,000.
Thousands of electric cooperative leaders from across the United States are headed to Florida to hear the latest information and trends from industry experts, discuss challenges and solutions with their colleagues, and get connected to a powerful network.
Organization: National Rural Electric Cooperative Association
Conference: 2019 NRECA Annual Meeting
Venue: Orange County Convention Center
City: Orlando, Florida
Following preconference workshops and a welcome reception, NRECA 2019 kicks off on Monday morning with a keynote featuring Michael Eisner. The former CEO of the Walt Disney Company will share his insights on what it takes to run a company that must always grow and change. Also on the agenda:
Future leaders. The Next Generation Leaders Experience develops emerging cooperative leaders through special annual meeting programming designed to build their co-op knowledge, extend their professional network, and develop self-awareness that will help as they grow and contribute as co-op leaders.
Modern living. Utility-connected homes allow co-ops and their members to use internet-enabled appliances and devices to manage energy use. The expo hall will feature a model home for attendees to see these technologies, including smart cameras and water shutoff valves, in action.
Greater good. On Sunday afternoon, attendees can participate in a community service project to benefit A Gift for Teaching, Central Florida’s primary provider of free school supplies to teachers for their students in need. They’ll be assembling art kits for local students.
