Conference Circuit: International Business Education

AACSB International’s 2019 International Conference and Annual Meeting begins next week in Scotland. Attendance is expected to top 1,300.

More than 1,300 business school deans, assistant and associate deans, department chairs, and faculty are headed to Edinburgh, Scotland, to exchange best practices, learn from industry experts, and discover developments in curriculum and technology.

Following a welcome reception and exhibit hall grand opening on Sunday evening, ICAM2019 opens on Monday morning with a plenary featuring Lynda Gratton. The London Business School professor will discuss the evolving role of education as people live longer and technology constantly advances. Also on the agenda:

Solution center. Attendees looking to connect and collaborate with colleagues should head to the Solution Room. The area, designated specifically for small-group discussions, will allow people to share their current challenges and get immediate feedback.

Q&A. On Monday afternoon, attendees can stop by the Speakers’ Corner to get exclusive time with conference presenters. It’s an opportunity for them to talk with speakers about their sessions and ask questions.

Learning journey. The four-hour “Responsible Management Education Affinity Group” session is a walking tour where entrepreneurs from the Scottish Social Enterprise Network will explain the country’s business landscape while participants explore some of Edinburgh’s natural wonders.
