Does your association deal with education, science, or youth outreach, or do you just happen to have a keen interest in the ocean? Then immerse yourself in JASON Learning’s 2014 National Educators Conference at George Washington University’s Virginia Science & Technology Campus, in Ashburn, Va., June 26-28.

Sessions will run the gamut, from a keynote by Dr. Juliana Texley, president of the National Science Teachers Association, to lessons on the planet’s ecological resilience or student-driven science experiences.

JASON, which is managed by the Sea Research Foundation Inc., works alongside the National Geographic Society to provide educators with lessons, multimedia tools, and more that haveĀ a particular focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in K-12 settings.

Registration has closed, but you can keep tabs on the latest developments from the conference, and any insights that emerge, on JASON’s Twitter and Facebook feeds.

The Week Ahead

June 23-26: While science is fresh on the mind, consider the 2014 BIO International Convention in San Diego. One of the nation’s leading biotechnology conferences, BIO still has a few openings.

June 24-26: In charge of building and maintaining association websites? Then O’Reilly Media’s Velocity conference in Santa Clara, Calif., may be up your alley. Focused on optimizing web operations and performance, the event brings together more than 2,000 tech-minded folks each year.

June 26-July 1: We’re assuming the American Library Association won’t be mandating quiet during its annual conference and exhibition in Las Vegas. There will be an extensive number of events, including author talks and award ceremonies. Check out the full rundown here.

Down the Line

July 9-12: If you’re tough enough, or if you just have an interest in health, the National Strength and Conditioning Association will hold its 37th Annual NSCA National Conference and Exhibition, “Strength Innovated,” in Las Vegas.
